Travel to Sälen, Åre, Vemdalen, Trysil and Hemsedal by train, car, coach or plane. New for winter 2026/27, Snälltåget journeys are available to all five resorts, with included transfer where the train does not reach the resort itself.

Plan your journey to the mountains

The best way to reach SkiStar's resorts depends on where your journey begins. Flying can be useful for longer distances, while train travel lets you relax for much of the journey. Car and ferry travel can offer more flexibility if you want your own vehicle and equipment with you.

New for winter 2026/27: train travel to all five resorts

Snälltåget offers journeys to Sälen, Åre, Vemdalen, Trysil and Hemsedal. Where the train does not reach the resort itself, the onward transfer is included in the Snälltåget journey. This makes it easier to plan the complete trip before you leave.

  • Travel to Sälen

    Sälen is easy to reach by car, train, bus or air.

  • Travel to Trysil

    Trysil is in Innlandet in eastern Norway, close to the Swedish border. It is around 210 km from Oslo and 40 km from Scandinavian Mountains Airport.

    Hemsedal is in Hallingdal in southern Norway, between Oslo and Bergen. It is around 200 km from Oslo and 270 km from Bergen, with several ways to complete the journey to the mountains.

    Travel here by air, car or ferry. Easy access during the winter season, easyJet fly between London (Gatwick Airport) to (Åre (Åre Östersund Airport).
