Getting to Hemsedal

Hemsedal is around 200 km from Oslo and 270 km from Bergen. Oslo is the main gateway for many international visitors, and from winter 2026/27 a new Snälltåget service makes it easier to combine rail travel with an included transfer to Hemsedal.

New: Snälltåget to Hemsedal with transfer in Oslo

Snälltåget runs from Copenhagen through southern and western Sweden directly to Oslo. From there, an included coach transfer continues to Hemsedal. The train and transfer can be booked together with SkiStar, making the journey easy to plan in one place.

Travel via Oslo

If you fly to Oslo, you can continue to Hemsedal by coach, train or hire car. By rail, travel towards Gol and continue by coach for the final part of the journey.

Travel via Bergen

Bergen can also be a useful gateway, particularly if your journey approaches Norway from the west. From Bergen, Hemsedal is around 270 km away and can be reached by car or by train to Gol with an onward connection.
