What is SkiStar Trail Park?
SkiStar Trail Park is our area for trail riding, with dedicated zones built for mountain biking.
Here you ride a combination of natural trails and purpose-built trails through forests and mountains, often featuring berms, flow sections, technical sections and natural challenges along the way.
Unlike lift assisted mountain biking in SkiStar Bike Park, trail riding takes place without lifts, meaning you ride under your own power throughout the entire experience.
SkiStar Trail Park at our destinations
SkiStar Trail Park is available at several of our destinations and offers everything from family-friendly flow trails to longer and more technical trails.
Experience trail riding in forests and mountains
Trail riding combines physical activity, nature experiences and technical biking in one activity.
You ride through forests, across mountain terrain and along trails that vary between fast flow sections, technical terrain and calmer connecting sections.
For many riders, Trail Park is the natural place to build skills before progressing to lift assisted mountain biking.
Different types of trails in Trail Park
In SkiStar Trail Park you will find several types of trails with different characteristics and difficulty levels.
Flow trails
Flow trails are built for rhythm and flow, often with berms, whoops and smooth surfaces that create a fun and predictable riding experience.
Technical trails
Technical trails feature roots, rocks, uneven surfaces and natural obstacles that require more balance, control and precision.
Natural trails
Natural trails follow the terrain’s natural shape and provide a more authentic riding experience with varied surfaces and terrain.
Purpose-built trails
Purpose-built trails are shaped and constructed to provide better flow, clearer lines and safe progression for different skill levels.
Equipment and protection
The right equipment makes trail riding both safer and more enjoyable while giving you better control in varied terrain.
Bike for Trail Park
A trail bike is best suited for Trail Park riding. Many riders use either a hardtail or full suspension bike depending on how technical the terrain is.
Protective equipment
A helmet is always mandatory when riding in our areas, and we also recommend additional protection for more technical riding.
- Bike helmet.
- Gloves for better grip and comfort.
- Knee pads for extra confidence in technical terrain.
If you do not have your own equipment, you can easily rent a bike and protective gear at our destinations.
Get started at the right level
SkiStar Trail Park is suitable for both beginners and experienced riders, but the most important thing is to start at the right level.
Perfect for building core skills
Many riders use Trail Park as their first introduction to mountain biking because the trails provide a safe introduction to surfaces, corners, braking and technique.
