Åre Bike Park – downhill in Åre
Experience downhill in Åre Bike Park with lift assisted mountain biking in Scandinavia’s largest bike park. Here you’ll find 40 bike trails in different difficulty levels and up to 853 vertical metres.
To ride in Åre Bike Park, you need ÅrePasset Medium or Large.

The trails range from easy green access trails to red and black freeride trails with speed, jumps and airtime, as well as technical sections with roots and rocks. You choose your own level and pace throughout the day.
If you’re completely new to mountain biking, we recommend starting gently on the trails in Åre Trail Park first.
Bike and equipment
You’ll need a full suspension downhill bike or a Bike Park bike designed for lift assisted mountain biking. We recommend a full-face helmet and protective equipment.
If you don’t have your own bike, you can hire a bike in Åre.

Green Downhill Trails
- 06 – Worldcup-leden
Long access trail from Hjulingen to the Hummeln lower station. Many of the mountain’s bike trails connect to and from Worldcup-leden. - 09 – Årevägen
Easy but fast access trail running all the way from Rödkullevägen back to Kabinbanan and VM6. - 12 – Bräckesvängen
An easy and fun diversion from Bräckevägen with flowing turns and good rhythm. Great if you’d like to try slightly more technical riding. - 18 – VM-vägen
Access trail from Hummeln down to Worldcup-leden. An easy way to continue towards Månskogen and other areas. - 24 – Bräckevägen
Easy access trail leading from Worldcup-leden down towards Årevägen. - 25 – LRF-vägen
Access trail from Bräckebäcksleden and Getrappet back to Kabinbanan and VM6. - 26 – Serpentinen
Long and easy trail from VM6 via the Hummeln lower station down towards Stjärntorget. A great first introduction to downhill in Åre Bike Park.
Blue Downhill Trails
- 01 – Easy rider
With its 5,004 metres, Easy Rider offers pure riding enjoyment through Åre’s spectacular alpine zone, from the top station of Kabinbanan all the way down to Hummeln. A wide, purpose-built trail with berms and fantastic flow. This is one of the most recommended downhill trails for riders looking to try Åre Bike Park. - 07 – Rödkullestigen
Moderately challenging single track across alpine heathland, running parallel with Worldcup-leden down towards the VM plateau. - 08 – Organic
Short and fast trail linking the Hummeln mountain side with the plateau at VM8. Includes a few smaller jumps along the way. - 13 – Månskogen
Wide and smooth single track with berms and small jumps from the VM plateau down towards Stjärnvägen. A fun trail if you’re looking for flow and enjoyable turns. - 14 – Getrappet
The continuation of Månskogen from Stjärnvägen, and one of Åre’s most popular bike trails. Smooth flow and great turns make it fun for many abilities. - 19 – Örnnästet
Short and narrow trail from Hummeln down towards Rydbergs väg, with beautiful views across the valley. - 21 – Rydbergs väg
Technical single track with airy views as the trail rounds Örnnästet before continuing down towards Worldcup-leden. - 28 – Lilla blå
One of the most popular trails in Åre Bike Park. A purpose-built trail with berms and well-sized jumps that can also be rolled. - 31 – Dubble Dave
Trail with tight turns and a few jump features. - 36 – Cobra
A blue flowy jump trail suitable for many riders. Wide, smooth and built with berms and jumps that link together in a great rhythm. - 38 – Vinkelvolten
Purpose-built trail from the top of VM6. - 40 – Cobra Connect
Wide, purpose-built trail where you choose whether to continue towards Cobra or turn off towards Dubble Dave or Månskogen.
Red Downhill Trails
- 03 – 1000-metersleden
The first trail on Åreskutan built for freeride riding. A technical and rocky single track that demands both line choice and cornering skill. - 04 – Hjulingen
Wide and rolling trail taking you from the alpine zone down to the VM plateau. Fast, rocky and at times technical, but still rideable at a calmer pace. - 10 – Bräckebäcksleden
Rolling single track in rich soil winding through lush mountain birch forest, past streams and waterfalls, all the way down to the VM8 lower station. One of the mountain’s real favourites. - 11 – French connection
Narrow and technical single track leading from the upper part of Bräckebäcksleden to the lower section of Månskogen. - 15 – Wingman
One of the most talked-about trails in Åre Bike Park. Wingman is a 3,300 metre purpose-built jump trail packed with large berms and around 50 jumps. A fast and exciting run all the way to Stjärntorget. - 16 – Västra stjärnvägen
Narrow and fast single track with natural obstacles such as rocks and roots. Good line choice and speed control are rewarded here. - 23 – Uffes
Fun and challenging trail with tight corners and smaller jumps. The entrance can feel a little steep at first. - 27 – Flinbanan
One of the most ridden trails in Åre Bike Park. Rolling purpose-built jump trail with plenty of jumps and berms that create a brilliant sense of speed. - 32 – Kanonröret
Short but challenging trail with built wallrides and wooden bridges. - 35 – ÅBC-kicken
The run down towards Stjärntorget and VM6 can finish with one of the biggest jumps in Åre Bike Park. There is also an easier route around it. - 39 – Flemming Fartland
Purpose-built trail with good speed.
Black Downhill Trails
- 02 – Hällrajd
Expert black trail crossing Åreskutan’s exposed mountain terrain in the high alpine zone. Full of natural obstacles, drops, steep descents and rocks. A true Åre classic for advanced riders. - 05 – Svartberget
Rocky and highly technical trail along the beautiful Svartberget edge. Line choice and concentration are essential. - 17 – Downhillbanan
Åre’s downhill race track starts at Hummeln with a series of steep turns before entering a technical rock section. One of Åre’s most demanding bike trails. - 20 – Rydbergs dropp
One of Åreskutan’s most technical bike trails, short but very demanding. Steep start and a pronounced drop out onto Rydbergs väg. - 22 – Ripbranten
Legendary riding terrain and one of the few remaining sections of Åre’s classic World Championship track. Steep, narrow, rocky and technically demanding single track. - 29 – Nelson
Very steep and at times extremely technical single track surrounded by beautiful pine forest. A trail that demands courage, concentration and skill. - 30 – Tjärnis stig
Narrow and twisting single track running from Stjärnvägen and joining the DH track just above Stjärntorget. At times very steep and full of demanding turns. - 33 – Jannes rygg
Short but very steep and rooty trail. Technically demanding, but good preparation for bigger challenges higher up the mountain. - 34 – Slippery when wet
Short but tricky trail with a drop midway. A fun finish down towards VM6. - 37 – Whip it good
This jump opened for Åre Bike Festival in 2020 and has already become a classic in Åre Bike Park.
We recommend that you use a full face helmet and protection when riding downhill.
