Questions and answers

How does the offer work for you as a member? Is HVO100 available at all OKQ8 stations? Here you’ll find answers and clarifications.

Background about the campaign:

  • What does the campaign Renewable to the Mountains mean?
Renewable to the Mountains is a collaboration between SkiStar and OKQ8 aimed at making it easier for mountain travelers to choose fossil-free fuel. During the winter season 2025–2026, SkiStar members who have booked accommodation at SkiStar destinations for at least 2 nights or purchased a SkiPass for two days will receive a discount of 2 SEK per liter when refueling renewable diesel, known as HVO100, at OKQ8 stations on the way to or from the mountains.
  • What is HVO100?
HVO100 is a renewable diesel fuel made from renewable raw materials such as vegetable oils, waste, and by-products. HVO100 reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%* compared to fossil diesel.
  • Who is behind the campaign?
Renewable to the Mountains is a joint initiative by SkiStar and OKQ8. We share the belief that tackling climate challenges requires collaboration across industries. We want more people to discover HVO100 and understand the real difference it makes for the climate when more drivers switch to renewable diesel. No one can solve the climate crisis alone, but every choice matters – together we can make it happen.

About the discount:

  • How does it work at a staffed OKQ8 station?
Choose a pump with HVO100. Ask the staff to activate the pump, refuel with HVO100, and then show one of the codes available in your SkiStar Member profile.
  • Where can I find the QR code?
In the SkiStar app under My Membership. Four days before your trip.
  • How many liters can I refuel with the code?
There is no limit. The QR code is valid for one refueling on your outbound trip and the second QR code for your return trip.
  • How long can I use the codes?
4 days before your arrival date and 2 days after your booking has ended.
  • Can I save the QR code for later?
No, the codes are intended for your current trip in connection with your arrival date or SkiPass start date. If you have a season pass, you will receive 4 codes at once, which can be used throughout the winter season 2025/26.
  • Who is eligible for the offer?
Anyone who has booked at least 2 nights of accommodation or a 2-day SkiPass with SkiStar during the 25/26 winter season and is a SkiStar Member.
  • Will this become a recurring offer?
This is a pilot campaign. We will evaluate both the environmental impact and customer feedback before deciding on further initiatives.
  • Do you have an offer for petrol car drivers?
No, this campaign focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which petrol cars do not achieve. There is no available alternative.

Not at all. There are over 380 locations within OKQ8’s network. Here's an interactive map.

*The revised EU RED III method (EU/2018/2001) is used for calculating emissions in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. The reduction in greenhouse gas emissions varies depending on region-specific legislation that defines the calculation method, as well as the raw material mix used to produce the product for each market. The emission reduction refers to your driving when refueling with Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ (HVO100) from a life-cycle perspective.
