Winter news in Sälen
We’re constantly developing Sälen to create an even better mountain experience. Winter 2026/2027 brings major new developments across skiing, snow reliability, travel and accommodation.
New wide experience slope in Lindvallen
This winter, we’re taking the next step in Sälen with a completely new ski experience in Lindvallen, combining skiing with innovative light installations.
The areas between Ulla and Johan will be opened up and connected to create one wide, continuous slope. Covering around 16 hectares and reaching up to 160 metres in width, it will become Sweden’s widest ski slope.
There will be plenty of space for playful and varied skiing. The generous width, combined with carefully designed lighting, creates a completely new feeling on the slope, with the lights following you all the way down.
The Snowman makes a comeback
The Snowman is returning to Lindvallen in a new form. The iconic meeting place will once again stand at the top of Gustavbacken and become part of the experience all year round.
For many guests, the Snowman brings back memories of previous visits to Sälen. Its return connects that history with new developments and creates a meeting place for both nostalgia and new experiences.
Scandinavia’s best snow guarantee
Snow is the foundation of a great ski holiday. For winter 2026/2027, we’re introducing Scandinavia’s best snow guarantee, giving you extra peace of mind when booking your trip.
With 140 new snow guns in Sälen, we guarantee at least 30 open slopes during the guarantee period, a significant increase on previous levels.
The snow guarantee applies from 18 December 2026 to 4 April 2027 and allows you to rebook or receive a refund if the guarantee is not fulfilled.
Please note: The Alpine Snow Guarantee does not apply to lifts or slopes that are temporarily closed due to technical problems, severe weather or similar circumstances.
