Exciting TV filming in Åre this winter
This winter, something extra exciting is happening in Åre. Parts of the ski area will be used as locations for a TV production. We’re pleased to welcome the production and explain below how the filming will be carried out and what it may mean for you as a guest.
The documentary series Fjället follows the people who keep Åre running and will be broadcast on Viaplay and TV3 in autumn 2026. Filming takes place in authentic locations across the ski area and offers an insight into the extensive work that goes on behind the scenes.
How your skiing may be affected
In practice, skiing will not be affected. Most guests will ski as usual and will neither see nor notice any filming.
In some cases, you may notice:
- the use of drones in connection with filming
- increased activity in the form of small camera teams and staff wearing high-visibility vests marked “TV CREW”
When filming is taking place, we provide updates via push notifications in the app and on information screens around the area.
A positive investment for Åre
We see it as very positive that Åre has been selected as a filming location for this production. It brings increased visibility for the destination and confirms that the environment here is appreciated by both guests and partners.
You can read more about the production on Brand New Content’s website.
Thank you for your understanding
We kindly ask for everyone’s cooperation and understanding. On days when filming is taking place, we will inform you via the app that the film crew is active in the ski area.
