Definitions

Here you’ll find explanations of terms and expressions you may encounter as a SkiStar owner – such as how the year is divided, what discounts mean, and more.

Terms for owners

  • High season: Christmas, New Year and Epiphany weeks, the winter school holiday weeks (weeks 7–10), and both Easter weeks*.
  • Winter season: Weeks 44–18. The restriction on the number of owner weeks applies during weeks 51–16 and determines which benefit category you belong to.
  • Summer season: Weeks 19–43. During this period, mediation is voluntary and not benefit-qualifying.
  • Owner week: Period during which you as owner have personal use of the property – also includes shorter stays such as short weeks, weekends, or single days.

Benefit categories and discounts

The benefits apply if you have booked owner weeks for the upcoming winter season (25/26) and selected a benefit category no later than 1 November 2024.

SkiPass

  • Book SkiPass with discount at skistar.com, logged in as owner on My Page.
  • The discount is automatically applied at checkout.
  • You can book up to 4 SkiPasses with owner discount for family members or co-owners, both adults and children.
  • You can mix different types of SkiPasses – the discount applies to a total of four (4) passes.
    The size of the discount depends on which benefit category you have selected.

Types of SkiPass

  • SkiStar All: Valid at all SkiStar destinations during the winter or summer periods.
  • SkiStar All Year: Annual pass valid year-round at all SkiStar destinations.
  • Local season pass: Valid for skiing at one chosen SkiStar destination.
  • 6–8 days: 8 days for the price of 6.
  • 8 flexible days: Valid for 8 flexible days during the winter season at a specific destination.
  • Area Pass: A SkiPass valid for a single ski area. The Area Pass is available in Högfjället in Sälen and Klövsjö/Storhogna in Vemdalen.
  • Cross-CountryPass Season: Access to SkiStar Cross Country Arena during the winter.

Hotel and accommodation discounts

5/50 on accommodation

50% discount on selected accommodation when booking 5 days or less before arrival.

  • Applies in Sälen, Åre, Vemdalen, Hemsedal and Trysil.
  • Book with a promo code at skistar.com – the code is announced annually on the owner pages.

5/25 on hotels

25% discount on hotel stays when booking 5 days or less before arrival.
