Winter news at Hammarbybacken
September 7 was the premiere of Hammarbybacken's latest innovation – SkiStar Summer Ski. This means that the 2022/23 ski season is already underway!
SummerSki is exactly what it sounds like – skiing in summer. You ski on a form of artificial grass and use your normal ski equipment. If you don't have your own equipment, you can rent it in Hammarbybacken.
SkiStar SummerSki is open all autumn, until 6 Nov, which means you can ski, right in the middle of Stockholm, during the whole autumn holidays!
As soon as the cold and snow arrive, we'll switch to winter and start producing snow to open for "normal" winter skiing again.

Welcome to SkiStar Lodge Vemdalen
You really do stay right in the middle of the slope with the Pass Express chairlift outside the front entrance. The hotel is the perfect base for families with slightly older children where freedom of choice is important. The hotel offers a restaurant with après-ski, shuffleboard, ski rental, a shop and a gym. We have closed for the season and will reopen in December 2025 - welcome back!
