Here you will find a simple overview of SkiPass and lift pass options in Åre. You can choose a pass for the entire ski area, a destination pass for Duved and Tegefjäll, a family pass, a children's area pass, a Cross-CountryPass or a shorter lift pass for part of the day.
SkiPass – lift pass for all of Åre
A regular SkiPass is ideal if you want to go alpine skiing in all SkiStar Åre ski areas: Åre By, Åre Björnen, Duved and Tegefjäll.
You can choose a SkiPass for one or more days. For shorter visits, there are SkiPass options for 1 or 2 days, while multi-day passes are suitable if you are staying longer.
Destination pass Duved/Tegefjäll
Destination pass Duved/Tegefjäll is suitable if you want to ski in a specific ski area in Åre. The pass is valid for skiing throughout Duved and Tegefjäll, with 12 lifts and 19 varied slopes.
Ski- & Cross-CountryPass
Ski- & Cross-CountryPass is suitable if you want to combine alpine skiing with cross-country skiing in Åre. The pass gives access to Åre's ski areas as well as SkiStar's Cross-Country Arenas in Duved and Björnen and paid trails in Ullådalen.
Cross-CountryPass
Cross-CountryPass is suitable if you want to go cross-country skiing in Åre. The pass is valid for SkiStar's Cross-Country Arenas in Duved and Björnen as well as paid trails in Ullådalen.
SkiPass 6–8 days
If you are staying in Åre for a full week, SkiPass 6–8 days can be a good choice. You get skiing for 8 days for the price of 6.
Family pass
A family pass is suitable for families where two adults want to share one SkiPass and take turns skiing with the children. It makes it easier to switch between skiing, breaks and time in the children's areas.
Children's area pass
A children's area pass is suitable for the youngest skiers who mainly ski in children's areas and button-lift areas. The pass gives access to Åre's children's areas and is a good choice when the focus is safe and simple skiing for children.
Shorter and flexible SkiPass options
If you only want to ski for part of the day, or want more flexibility during your stay, there are several shorter SkiPass options.
- Afternoon SkiPass is valid from 12:00 until the lifts' regular closing time. It does not include evening skiing.
- 2-hour SkiPass is valid for 2 consecutive hours from your first lift ride.
- Evening SkiPass is valid in evening-open lifts from 18:00 to 20:00.
- 4 optional days during one week is suitable if you want to choose which days you ski during your stay.
Return lift tickets
If you only need to take the lift once or twice, return lift tickets are available. A return lift ticket is valid for one ride up and down any lift.
Return lift tickets are not valid in Kabinbanan or Gondolen. They do not generate activity days in SkiStar Member.
Tickets for Kabinbanan and the high zone
If you want to ride Kabinbanan or VM8:an and Gondolen, separate tickets are available for Kabinbanan/high zone.
These tickets do not generate activity days in SkiStar Member.
Season passes and SkiStar All
If you ski often, a season pass or SkiStar All may be a better choice than a regular SkiPass. You can choose between local season passes, season passes with 8 optional ski days during the season and SkiStar All products.
If you only want to ski in Åre, local season passes are available. If you want to ski at several SkiStar destinations, SkiStar All Winter or SkiStar All Year may be more relevant.
What's included in different passes in Åre
What is included depends on which pass you choose. A regular SkiPass gives you access to alpine skiing in all SkiStar Åre ski areas, while destination passes and Cross-CountryPass apply to more specific parts of the ski offering.
- SkiPass for all of Åre is valid in Åre By, Åre Björnen, Duved and Tegefjäll.
- Destination pass Duved/Tegefjäll is valid in Duved and Tegefjäll.
- Ski- & Cross-CountryPass combines alpine skiing with cross-country skiing.
- Cross-CountryPass is valid for cross-country skiing.
- Free ski bus in Åre is included in several passes.
- Evening skiing and other activities may be included in some passes on specific days and at specific times. Current lifts, times and activities may vary.
Please note that Corduroy morning in Åre is not included in a regular SkiPass and must be booked separately.
Practical information about SkiPass in Åre
- SkiPass can be purchased easily online or in the SkiStar app.
- If you do not have a SkiPass card, there is a charge for a new card.
- Pre-booked SkiPasses where you have purchased a new SkiPass card can be collected using a QR code at a SkiPass pick up machine or with a booking number at any SkiStarshop.
- If you have topped up your existing SkiPass card, you can go straight to the lift.
- All SkiPasses are personal, except family passes, which are shared between two people.
