What’s new in Vemdalen this winter

For winter 2026/27, snowmaking and the snow guarantee in Vemdalen are being strengthened. With 202 new snow guns and at least 20 guaranteed open slopes, you can plan your ski holiday with greater peace of mind. Tjejmilen is also getting a completely new winter edition in Vemdalen.

A major boost for snowmaking

Vemdalen is getting 202 new snow guns for winter 2026/27. This significantly increases snowmaking capacity and strengthens the work to secure good conditions throughout the winter season.

The investment will help provide more stable conditions on the slopes, whether you visit early in the season, around Christmas and New Year or at Easter.

Stronger snow guarantee – at least 20 open slopes

The Alpine Snow Guarantee is being extended, giving you greater peace of mind. From 18 December 2026 up to and including 4 April 2027, we guarantee at least 20 open slopes.

If Vemdalen is unable to provide the promised alpine ski product, you have the right to cancel or end your stay and receive a refund.

*The Snow Guarantee does not apply to lifts or slopes that are temporarily closed due to technical problems, severe weather or similar circumstances.

Tjejmilen Längd comes to Vemdalen

In March 2027, Tjejmilen Längd Vemdalen will take place for the first time. The iconic event is heading onto the cross-country ski trails, creating a completely new winter experience on snow.

The 10-kilometre course follows Vargenspåret at Vemdalsskalet. You can choose between classic or skate skiing, and the course is also suitable for those with some experience of cross-country skiing in Vemdalen.

The experience is just as important as the performance, whether you want to take part in your first cross-country ski race or enjoy the day with friends, family or colleagues.
