Travel to Trysil by train

Trysil does not have a railway station. Train travel can still form part of the journey, with a coach connection from a suitable transport hub.

There is no railway station in Trysil

Trysil does not have a railway station, so the final part of any rail journey needs to be completed by coach. For most international train journeys, Oslo is the most useful hub for travelling onwards to Trysil.

Travel by train to Oslo and continue by coach

If your rail journey takes you to Oslo, continue from Oslo Bus Terminal to Trysil by coach. Trysilekspressen runs directly between Oslo and Trysil throughout the year.

If your journey is already travelling through Norway on the Røros Line, Elverum can also be used as a connection point for buses to Trysil.

Is there an easier way to reach Trysil?

For many international visitors, flying to Scandinavian Mountains Airport or Oslo Airport will be quicker and simpler than travelling most of the journey by train.

New international train connection planned for 2028

A direct Berlin–Hamburg–Copenhagen–Oslo train service is planned to start in summer 2028. This will make it easier to reach Oslo by rail from continental Europe, with the final journey to Trysil continuing by coach.
