The walk to the day trip cabin is around 500 metres on a wide and well-prepared trail. It is a very easy walk, whether you are walking with children, a pushchair or simply want a short and peaceful trip into the forest.

The day trip cabin is made for daytime visits and has no beds. You can use the cabin as a rest stop, a place to warm up or as a pleasant destination in its own right.
In the forest near the centre
The cabin is beautifully located among the pine trees, close to both Trysil centre and the trail network in Grimsåsen. The area is ideal for an easy family walk, a quiet everyday break or as a starting point for a longer walk through the forest, such as the circular route in Grimsåsen via Fuglsjøene.
Start and practical information
From Trysil centre, follow Korsbergsvegen uphill from Storvegen and then turn left onto Grindbekkvegen. After a short distance, you will reach the car park by the floodlit trail.
