Travel to Hemsedal by train via Oslo or Gol. New for winter 2026/27, Snälltåget can be booked with an included coach transfer from Oslo to Hemsedal.

New: Snälltåget to Oslo with transfer to Hemsedal

From winter 2026/27, travelling to Hemsedal by train becomes even easier. Snälltåget runs from Copenhagen through southern and western Sweden to Oslo, with an included coach transfer onwards to Hemsedal.

The train and transfer can be booked together with SkiStar, making it easy to plan the journey in one place and relax for a large part of the way to the mountains.

The service runs every week with departures on Saturdays and Sundays. The first arrival is 19 December 2026 and the final arrival is 21 March 2027. Return journeys can also be booked.

Travel to Oslo without changing trains

Snälltåget starts in Copenhagen and calls at Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg, Halmstad, Mölndal, Gamlestaden and Trollhättan before continuing to Oslo without a train change.

Coach transfer from Oslo is included

In Oslo, you change from the train to the included coach transfer, which continues to SkiStar Lodge Hemsedal.

Travel by train to Gol

Another useful way to reach Hemsedal by rail is to travel to Gol on the Bergen Line from Oslo or Bergen. Hemsedal does not have its own railway station, so the final part of the journey is completed by coach.

Bus services connect Gol with Hemsedal, making this a practical option if your journey already takes you through Oslo, Bergen or along the Bergen Line.

Other rail connections

If the Snälltåget service does not suit your travel dates, you can use other rail connections to Oslo and continue towards Gol and Hemsedal from there.
