Åre village is a traditional mountain village where the wide range of skiing, shopping, restaurants and bars on offer are creating a real metropolitan vibe. You can easily get up to the slopes from several different lift stations and most lodging properties are within walking distance of lifts, shops, restaurants, cafés and bars.

Lodgings in Åre village are of a high standard and are usually centrally located within the village. There are a number of picturesque and charming hotels for those on the lookout for comfort and luxury.

Skiing in Åre ski area

Åre's ski area is divided into two parts: the high zone and the low zone. In the low zone you ski below the tree line and there are a large number of red and black slopes known from the Alpine World Cup. The easiest way to get to the high zone is with the cable car or gondola lift. From here you can either head straight down towards the village or towards Ullådalen and Rödkullen for easier blue and green slopes. Around Åreskutan you'll find summit tours and challenging off-piste areas just a few steps away from the slopes and the cosy slope restaurants. The slope will take you all the way down to Åre square which is the perfect starting point for a night out at one of the village's many restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

Children's areas in the Åre ski area

The children's area is located in Rödkullen and offers some button lifts, conveyor belts and a sledding slope. It also features Valle the Snowman's very own LED-illuminated adventure trail - Valle's Ski Adventure. Rödkullen has car parking and a ski bus stop. The ski school meets in Rödkullen.

Snow Parks & Fun Ride

SkiStar Snow Park Åre is Åre's largest Snow Park and is located in the Bräcke area. Besides jumps, rails and boxes, there's also a hang-out with WiFi and charging stations. The lower part of the Park is called the "Garden" — an illuminated area where the same type of LED lights that light up the Empire State Building create a striking atmosphere.

In Åre you'll find a Fun Ride with jumps, bumps and velodromes that are built to suit everyone, from small children and beginners to advanced skiers. The Fun Ride is located at piste number 54 in Rödkullen/Bräcke.
