What's new in Åre winter 2026/2027

Several new developments are coming to Åre for winter 2026/2027, bringing more choice, greater booking confidence and improved access across the ski area. Here are the key things to look forward to this season.

New SkiPass for Duved and Tegefjäll

A new Area Pass Duved and Tegefjäll is being introduced for winter. It is ideal if you want plenty of skiing in a quieter, family-friendly area at a lower price.

The pass is valid in Duved and Tegefjäll and offers an alternative to the destination pass, which gives access to the entire Åre ski area. New for winter 2026/2027, the pass can also be booked for longer periods rather than only as a day pass.

Sweden's best snow guarantee in Åre

For winter 2026/2027, SkiStar is introducing Sweden's best snow guarantee to give you greater confidence when booking your ski holiday.

In Åre, the snow guarantee means that at least 30 slopes will be open during the guarantee period. Significant investments are also being made in snow production, with more snow cannons helping to provide good conditions across a longer part of the winter season.

The snow guarantee applies from 18 December 2026 to 4 April 2027. If the conditions of the guarantee are not met, you can rebook or receive a refund in accordance with the terms of the guarantee.

The 1000-metre lift returns to Åre

One of the biggest developments in Åre this winter is the return of the classic 1000-metre lift.

The new lift is being built as a modern and reliable installation, making it easier to reach the upper slopes of Mount Åreskutan. It will also improve the flow of skiing on the mountain, allowing you to spend more time in the higher parts of the ski area without having to return all the way to the village between runs.

With its top station at 1,319 metres above sea level, the lift opens up more skiing opportunities and improves access to the slopes on Mount Åreskutan.

Tott Hotell – new accommodation in Åre

One of this winter's accommodation highlights is Tott Hotell, set above Åre village with views of Lake Åresjön and Mount Åreskutan. The hotel offers newly renovated rooms, a restaurant in the building and the ski slope just 50 metres away. Åre Square is also around a 5–10-minute walk away, making it easy to combine skiing with restaurants, shopping and village life.
