Winter news in Åre

Winter 23/24 offers many news, as we invest heavily in our ski systems, among other things, and strengthen snow safety in Duved and Tegefjäll, as well as build a new Valle stage in Björnen!

New lift

We are building new lifts to weatherproof the Åre/Björnens ski area. In step 1, we have built the Viklift B47 for the 23/24 season. In step 2, we plan to build B48 for the 24/25 season, east of slope105 with an exit near the Tottenlift Å35 exit.

News 2023/24

Ahead of the 2023/24 winter season, we want to make our ski areas snow-safe in the best possible way. Therefore we are investing a lot in strengthening our slopes in Duved and Tegefjäll.

This way, more slopes will get snow production facilities, so we have better conditions to ensure good skiing throughout the season.

Our SkiStar Snow Parks also get a boost - here we take help from our ambassador Jesper Tjäder with an exciting design. As one of the world's best freeskiers, including a victory in the X-Games and an Olympic bronze, he knows what is needed for more people to discover the joy, community and magic of skiing in a Snow Park.

We are also upgrading the Duved top lift station to increase the lifts' resistance to weather and wind. We also want to strengthen our service in Tegefjäll, so we are opening a new SkiStarshop in Tegetornet for the season opening, where you as guests can easily rent skis and complete your equipment for wonderful days in the mountains.

An exciting digital innovation is that you as a guest will be able to complete QR code challenges at the destination! Unlock QR codes and receive rewards and pins in the SkiStar app in logged-in mode.

The snowman Valle is successful everywhere and deserves the best of stages, so we are building a completely new Valle stage in Björnen! The stage will get Valle's après-ski and Valle shows going - all to give children an unforgettable experience together with Valle.

At Åre Torg we are strengthening the offer with an EQPE store that will offer smart, stylish and high quality ski clothing and accessories at a great price.

To enhance the restaurant experience at the ski slope, the mountain restaurant Bibbos will open in the former Platåkåtan, in the middle of slope 102 - Bibbos brant.

And to the delight of everyone who wants to take their electric car to Åre, Sveg now has 24 new stationary charging points and we also have more charging points in our car parks.
