The long circular route is the main walk in the area and is ideal if you want a varied woodland walk with a little more distance and elevation gain. The route is 5.5 kilometres long, has 254 metres of elevation gain and runs through undulating terrain south of Trysil centre.
Although the walk is not especially long, it has enough elevation gain to feel like a proper hike. Along the way, the terrain varies between easier woodland sections, old forest and more undulating parts.

Along the route, you come to a viewpoint towards Trysil’s first power station. This is a nice place to stop, but take care if you move closer to the edge, as the terrain drops steeply towards the power station.

Start and practical information
Both routes start at Trysil Hyttegrend Øråneset, around 2.8 kilometres south of Trysil centre along the road towards Nybergsund. The long circular route takes around 2.5 hours, depending on pace, breaks and conditions.
