Hemsedal ski area

The Hemsedal ski area extends from 620 to 1,450 metres above sea level and the winter season lasts until early May.

Lodging

Hemsedal has a wide selection of cabins, large houses and apartments, and most are located in the vicinity of the ski slopes and lifts. There are also two large SkiStar Lodges for those looking for extra comfort. The Ski bus runs between most areas and is free of charge for everyone.

The skiing

Hemsedal offers adventurous skiing from three different peaks. The longest slope is 6 km from the top to the bottom of the ski system. There are ski slopes of all difficulty levels, and freeride skiing in the forest or on untouched mountainsides, just a stone's throw from the slopes.

For winter 23/24, we are building a brand new express lift in Hemsedal. The 6-seater lift, Lodge Express, will depart from SkiStar Lodge. Thanks to the lift’s location, you will now get quicker and easier access to the entire ski area.

Children's area

The children's area in Hemsedal is located at the bottom of the ski system, next door to the SkiStar Lodges. Here you'll find button lifts, conveyor belts and easy slopes for beginners of all ages. In the children's area you'll also find the Valle Ski Area, an area with Valle statues as well as a minipark with small jumps and boxes.

Facilities nearby: Meet-up location for ski school, toilets, restaurant, playground, heated cabin, BBQ, SkiStarShop, grocery store.

Snow parks and Fun Ride

Slope #32 in Hemsedal ski area has a Fun Ride with jumps, bumps and berms. The Fun Ride is fun and challenging for skiers of all levels, from small children to experienced skiers. A little higher up in the ski area you'll find the larger parks, SnowPark Red and SnowPark Blue. Here you'll find jumps, rails and boxes. Hemsedal also has a skicross track and a slalom course with timekeeping.
