The coolest mountain activities for kids and teens
The mountain is packed with things to try, master and get properly excited about – whether you want to go faster, jump higher, learn something new or take on a challenge.
What are you up for?
- Learning something new? Try ski school, Valle’s ski school or bike camp.
- Speed and flow? Try Fun Rides, Snow Park, Bike Park or Trail Park.
- A challenge? Join SkiStar Cup, Christmas Challenge or Easter Challenge.
- Something completely different? Swimming, Valle, events and activities make a day in the mountains even more fun.
What do you want to try first?
A day in the mountains can be much more than skiing or biking. You can find the flow in a turn, try a jump, meet Valle, go swimming, compete, ride through the forest or try something you were not ready for yesterday.
The most important thing is not being the best. It is feeling that you can do a little more than before.
Want to learn something new?
Maybe you want to feel more confident on skis, try snowboarding, get better control on your bike or learn how to get through a turn without braking the whole way.
For younger children, Valle’s ski school can be a fun and playful start on skis. For older children and teens, there is also ski school and activities where you can build technique, balance and confidence at your own pace.
In summer, bike camp, pump tracks and bike trails made for children can make it easier to get started on two wheels.
Suddenly, the turn feels a bit better. Suddenly, you dare a little more.
Want speed and flow?
In the mountains, there are lots of places where the slope, the snow or the trail becomes part of the fun.
In Fun Rides and on child-friendly bike trails, you can find rollers, turns and small features that make the ride even more fun.
In winter, Snow Parks can be the place to try jumps, boxes, rails and creative lines. If you feel confident on skis or a snowboard, you can also find playful rollers, edges and small jumps in and along the slopes.
In summer, Kids Bike Park and Kids Trail Park could be just the thing if you want to try biking with others at the same level. You can try lift-accessed biking or trail biking with safe guidance from a skilled bike guide.
You do not need to start with the biggest jump. Start with what feels right for you, and build up step by step.
Want to try a challenge?
Sometimes it is even more fun when something extra is happening. At our destinations, kids and teens can join competitions, challenges and activities where it is all about trying, improving and having fun with others.
SkiStar Cup, SkiStar Christmas Challenge and SkiStar Easter Challenge are examples of activities that add a little extra excitement to a day in the mountains.
Maybe you are chasing a better time. Maybe you are trying a new slope. Maybe you just want to know what it feels like to take part.
You do not need to be a pro. You just need to want to try.
Want to meet Valle?
For younger children, Valle is a big part of the mountain adventure. He shows up in both winter and summer, making the mountains even more fun with games, dancing, activities and great stories.
Maybe you will meet Valle on the slopes, at an activity or somewhere you did not expect.
He is pretty easy to spot – and pretty hard not to smile at.
Want to do something completely different?
A day in the mountains does not have to be all about skiing, snowboarding or biking. Sometimes the best thing is to swim, climb, join an event, watch something fun or do something with friends, siblings or family.
Throughout the year, there are lots of activities and events for kids and teens at our destinations. Some are great for younger children. Others are better for older children and teens who want more speed, music, competitions or new challenges.
Create your own mountain adventure
In winter, the mountain is full of snow, slopes, parks and cross-country trails. In summer, skis are swapped for bikes, trails, swimming, green mountainsides and long days outdoors.
Maybe you will find your favourite slope in winter and your favourite trail in summer. Maybe it will be Valle, ski school, Snow Park, biking, swimming or a challenge you had not planned to try.
The best thing about the mountains is that you do not have to do everything at once.
Start with one thing. Try something new next time. Create your own mountain adventure – exactly the way you like it.
