Biker’s rules for Bike Park
Here you can read the rules that apply to lift assisted mountain biking in SkiStar Bike Park at SkiStar’s Swedish destinations. The rules are based on SLAO’s Lilla Gröna and primarily apply to Sälen and Åre. Many of the safety guidelines are also relevant to lift assisted biking in general, but always follow the local rules, signs and instructions at the destination where you are biking.
- All biking is at your own risk
Choose biking trails based on your own skill level and experience. Bike with care and adapt your speed to the terrain and your ability. One person per bike. - Show consideration for other trail users
Hikers and other trail users may be present on the biking trails. Slow down when meeting or passing others, and make the person aware that you want to pass. The person coming from above/behind must always give way. Pay particular attention on bends, crests and jumps, where trails merge or cross. Help anyone who has been involved in an accident. - Adapt your speed
Make sure you can stop before unexpected obstacles. Ride carefully over crests and through bends. Remember that the surface can change in different weather conditions. - Do not stop unnecessarily where visibility is limited
It is particularly unsuitable to stop behind crests, on bends and on steeper slopes. - Respect nature
Biking is only permitted on approved biking trails. Do not disturb animals, and do not litter. Natural terrain is sensitive. - It is the biker’s responsibility to know the rules
Follow signs and instructions for lift use and biking. - A helmet is compulsory when biking
In addition to a compulsory helmet, protective equipment such as back protection, knee pads, elbow pads and gloves is recommended. - The biker is responsible for their bike
It is the biker’s responsibility to ensure that the bike does not make other people, the lift or other facilities dirty or cause damage. - The bike must be a mountain bike
and therefore designed for biking on uneven surfaces, with working hand brakes at both the front and rear. - Intoxicated or drug-affected persons will be removed
Alcohol is just as unsuitable when biking as in any other traffic situation.
If the biker breaches the facility’s rules, the facility may block the lift pass.
