Røggjin

A trip that gives you a lot of views in a short amount of time. Røggjin quickly takes you up into the mountains, where you are rewarded with expansive views over Hemsedal, the ski center, and the surrounding mountains.

The hike starts high up in the terrain, which quickly gives you a mountain feel without long approach walks.

The trail first goes through forest before you reach more open and rocky terrain. From here, you follow the mountain ridge toward the summit. The hike is varied and relatively easy to follow, but some sections can be steep and slippery when wet.

Starting point and parking

Drive from Hemsedal center toward the ski resort and continue up Holdeskardvegen (toll road). After about 6.5 km, you will find Holdeskaret parking on the left side. From here, follow the marked trail toward the summit.
