New! Ski School at Hammarbybacken

During the winter season 2025/2026, Hammarbybacken will offer ski school for both children and youth. This is a perfect opportunity for those living in or near Stockholm to learn or improve their skiing and snowboarding skills—without having to travel far.

Our ski school is designed to suit both beginners and those who already have some experience on the slopes.

Practical Information

• Meeting point: At the square by the SkiStar flag.
• Each course is a single session and runs for a predetermined lesson time.
• When you book ski school, a SkiPass is included in the price.
• Ski rental is booked separately – if you don’t have your own equipment, it can easily be pre-booked and picked up on site at the SkiStarshop in Hammarbybacken.
• Please arrive in good time to collect your ski rental on weekends. The rental shop opens 30 minutes before the lift opens on weekends.
• Guardians are responsible for ensuring that students have all their equipment on when the lesson begins.
• Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis – so book now to secure your spot!

Alpine or Snowboard

Whether the children want to start with traditional alpine skiing or try snowboarding, there are courses to suit. At Hammarbybacken’s ski school, we offer lessons in both disciplines, with trained and skilled instructors who focus on fun and safe learning.

Beginner or Intermediate Course

To make ski school accessible to everyone, you can choose between two levels.

Beginner

The beginner course is for those who are completely new to skiing or snowboarding, and instructors will focus on the basics: balance, turning, and getting down the slope with control.

Intermediate

The intermediate course is for those who have skied before and want to take their skills to the next level. Here, the focus is more on technique and agility, helping children feel even more confident and secure on the slopes.

Children or Youth

To ensure that lessons are both engaging and developmentally appropriate, we’ve divided the ski school into two age groups:

Valle’s Ski School (ages 5–7)

This group is specially designed for the youngest skiers and offers a playful atmosphere that turns ski lessons into exciting little adventures.

Youth Course (ages 8–13)

Here, instructors focus on building more advanced skiing and snowboarding skills in a dynamic and challenging environment. Perfect for young people who want to progress and gain even better control on the slopes.
