The XT-3 is Lange's brand new, redesigned hybrid boot. Unlike almost every other brand Lange has realised that the race to reduce weight, counted in total grams, by using more lightweight nylon plastics in the shell and a thin, weight-reducing cold "sock" as a liner is NOT great for actual skiing. The new XT-3 is not opposed to ski touring, on the contrary the XT-3 obviously has original low-tech inserts of premium quality and a much better walk mode (>60 degrees) with less friction compared to previously - all of which makes the hours going uphill easier. It also has brand new and replaceable GripWalk soles, quick lacing of the true Ultralon liner with triple density, which also has a cut out at the back in padded Lycra for really comfortable hiking. But the XT-3 has a completely different shell than any other manufacturer: Dual Core PU - i.e. the same quality plastic as real alpine racing ski boots - as the manufacturer prioritises downhill skiing on wide and premium quality freeriding skis! Skiers with very light, thin and soft liners in soft nylon shells will never be able to speed downhill with the same power transmission as the new Lange XT-3. We may dream of touring as much as we use the lift, but honestly - don't we normally end up in the lift 90% or 95% of the time...? The new Lange XT-3 weighs in at only approx. 100grams more than the lighter hybrid boots but delivers incredibly more power downhill. XT-3 is available in 100 mm last and a tighter 97 last called "LV", both in sizes 23.5 - 27.5. - "It's all about the downhill!"
