The circular mindset

There are several parts of a mountain holiday that involve resources that can be re-used. For us, recycling and rentals have long been a natural part of our business model.

We rent out lodging, ski and bike equipment and repair skis and bikes in our workshops. We now also have two new concepts to develop, such as our second-hand sales.

rental - a way to recycle

For a long time now we have been providing lodgings where we offer owners a chance to rent out their lodgings through us at SkiStar. This increases the use of the beds that are already available at our destinations and reduces the need for new construction.

We also offer rental of ski and bike equipment through SkiStarshop. As well as reducing over-consumption, rentals are a way to test whether a product is right before buying a new one. It also allows us to work together to reduce the amount of products not in use.

Renting a ski package instead of buying results in 11.5 kg less emissions. SkiStar rented out 350,000 (360,000) ski packages during 2022/23, a total equivalent to 4,000 (4,140) tonnes of reduced emissions.

Two new concepts

During the 2022/23 winter season we tested two new concepts. One where we rent out ski clothing in Sälen, and another we call SkiStarshop Pre Used where we sell used skis and bikes on skistarshop.com. This is a completely new concept that will be expanded in the future.

Ski rentals

You can easily rent skis from us that are guaranteed to have freshly sharpened edges, are freshly waxed and always of the latest model. You can either rent a complete kit comprising skis, skiing boots and ski sticks, or individual products.

SkiStarshop - Ski service

Our SkiStarshops have the resources and expertise to fix most problems when it comes to your skis. Our knowledgeable staff will help you give your equipment extra TLC. With freshly sanded skis, cross-country skis or snowboards, skiing will be both fun and easier on the piste, in the park, as well as off-piste and on cross-country trails.

Rent a bike

Our SkiStarshops rent out all types of bikes; mountain bikes, downhill bikes, children's and junior bikes. Helmets and other downhill cycling protective equipment are also available for rent.

Looking for a new bike or skis? You’ve not got the opportunity to buy used skis and mountain bikes at skistarshop.com, which stocks a wide range of models and sizes. All bikes are carefully inspected and serviced and skis are serviced and ground by our workshop to ensure the best possible product.
