Winter 2023/24 offers many novelties in Vemdalen, as we are now starting preparations for the new ski area Hovde Syd, which among other things means that we will extend the Västlift by 100 metres and offer direct buses to Vemdalen from Stockholm - Uppsala - Gävle!

For us at SkiStar, your skiing experience is always our focus, which is why we have now started work on Hovde Syd, our new ski area in Vemdalen. Among other things, the 100-metre extension of the Västlift will be completed by winter, making more slopes in the ski area more weatherproof.
And to make our slopes better, a modern snow production system is also needed, so we have decided to invest and modernise our snow production system in Vemdalsskalet. This means that our slopes will become more resilient and last longer in the winter season.
We also want to make Vemdalen more accessible and offer more sustainable alternatives to the car. In 2024, we will organise bus trips from Stockholm - Uppsala - Gävle, where our buses will run on HVO100 renewable diesel fuel. An exciting digital innovation is that you as a guest will be able to complete exciting QR code challenges at the destination! Unlock QR codes and receive rewards and pins in the SkiStar app in logged-in mode.
Some exciting news is that we are expanding our range of accommodation at SkiStar Lodge, which is growing with the addition of SkiStar Lodge Vemdalen, formerly known as Skilodge Skalspasset. Here a gym will be added to the already extensive range of relaxation, ski hire and catering facilities, and the lodge will of course have ski-in ski-out facilities.
Restaurant Katrinastugan in Klövsjö fulfils the great wish of many guests by adding 40 new indoor seats and a double-sized veranda/terrace with fantastic views over the mountains.
The Toppen restaurant in Vemdalskalet, which burnt down in 2021, is being rebuilt in the same places and will now be expanded with additional indoor and outdoor seating.
Finally, SkiStar has acquired the Klövsjö Sportshop, which is now being transformed into a SkiStarshop offering ski rental as well as sales of ski equipment and ski clothing.
And to the delight of everyone who wants to take their electric car to Vemdalen, Sveg now has 24 new stationary charging points and we also have more charging points in our car parks.
