Cross Country Skiing

In the Åre mountains, the ski terrain varies to accommodate every taste and weather. From shielded spruce forests, sunny slopes covered with Arctic birch, to bogs and the bare mountainregion. From the frist staggering attempts in the exercise tracks, to week-long excursions in the wilderness, staying overnight in mountain lodges

Ullådalen (from 1 February) – Cross-marked ski trails
Ullådalen is the starting point for the best ski touring expeditions but also offer two tracks which are groomed starting from 1 February. The valley area between the peaks Åreskutan and Mullfjället is a very snowsure highland area offering wonderful mountain views, glorious sunny days but at times also severe cold winds. Make sure to dress for skiing in highland terrain with adjustments for the current weather conditions.
The Ullådalen area is reached by road to Ullådalsstugan or by ski lifts from Tegefjäll all the way up to an altitude of 800 metres above sea level enabling you to glide downhill to the cross-country tracks and trails. There are also ski buses from Duved and Åre to Rödkullen, adjacent to Ullådalen.
