DAC7 – Important information about reporting to the Swedish Tax Agency

DAC7 is an EU directive that requires digital platforms to report certain rental information to the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket).

The rules apply to anyone letting out a cabin or apartment in Sweden via a digital platform – whether you are an accommodation owner or a timeshare owner, and regardless of which country you live in.

This includes details such as your name, address, Tax Identification Number (TIN), number of bookings and rental nights, as well as gross rental income.

This is a legal requirement under Swedish legislation based on an EU directive (DAC7), and it is enforced by the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket). For you as an owner, it does not change the tax rules – you simply need to ensure that your information is accurate.
