What to do off the slopes? In and around the ski area of St. Johann a lot of activities and adventures other than skiing and snowboarding await you:

Toboggan run

The two Hochfeld lifts will whisk you to the top station in comfort, from where you can't miss the start of the toboggan run. The 2.5-km natural toboggan run offers you the chance to steer your sledge down a winding route into the valley.

The Hochfeld lifts are open daily from 8.30 am to 4 pm. The toboggan run is lit daily until 11 pm.

Live am Berg

Music and fun on our huts in spring - Live am Berg (Live on the Mountain), from 07th to 29th of March. „Live on the mountain“ is the slogan on our huts and restaurants every Saturday and Sunday from 12.00 pm in spring. On numerous huts you will find music groups playing – enjoy your lunch on the terrace with live music or celebrate the end of a great skiing day.

The choice of bands offers something for every taste – be it traditional, rock or pop music… and the bands are playing at all weather conditions. All the hosts are looking forward to welcoming you!

7A Challenge

The BLACK piste challenge in St. Johann in Tirol - Are you ready to ski the 7A black piste? It is not only the steepest slope on the mountain; it is also a former FIS-training course for the best of the best skiers in the world.

At the end, you can take a proof-photo at the 7A-photo point to show all your friends that; “You did it”!

Valles Star Skiing

Every Wednesday starting from 6th of January 2021 evening skiing is possible on the Tauwiese in Oberndorf. Valle's Tauwiesenlift is operating from 17.00 to 19.45.

The perfect occasion to draw some relaxed lines on the lit slope after school or work or to intensify the skills you acquired during your skiing lessons.

Tandem paragliding

Make the dream of flying come true! Enjoy gliding weightlessly over dizzying Alpine peaks and beautiful long valleys. If you're feeling brave you can try some aerial acrobatics and steer the paraglider yourself. No prior experience necessary.


In the Hornpark you can discover what it feels like to fly along a 500-metre zipline. On the winter "Flying Fox" course you can fly at heights you would never have imagined, with the Alps directly below you. The course operates on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays by appointment.

Hot-air ballooning

This is perhaps one of the most spectacular ways to see and experience the Alps - from above! Book a hot-air balloon flight and feel the fresh Alpine air on your face!

Horse-drawn sleigh rides

Soak up the Alpine atmosphere on a sleigh ride along the valley to the wonderful sound of horses' hooves in the snow. A special and exciting experience for the whole family. There are a number of providers of sleigh tours in the area.


St. Johann boasts the largest indoor climbing centre in the Tyrol. The walls are decorated with colourful grips that make you want to climb and awaken your thirst for adventure. Anyone looking to put their skills to the test can visit the centre on Tuesdays and Sundays, year round.

Randonnée (ski touring)

In recent years, the trend of hiking up the slopes in your skis has grown enormously. Doing the ascent in the evening is a wonderful natural experience that offers dizzying views and an overwhelming feel for the vastness of and oneness with nature.

Segway Winter Tours

Take part in a guided tour in the Tyrol and discover the ideal trails and paths for an adventuresome tour on a Segway. After a few simple tips and instructions from your guide, you're good to go. Minimum age of 12 years applies.

Panorama Badewelt

Plunge, dive, submerge - indoors or in the great outdoors - at Panorama Badewelt, St. Johann, the molecules bubble, treating you to a wet and blissful wellness programme beyond compare! Take the plunge into the heated waters! 38,000 m² for splashing around, feeling good and enjoying yourself.
A 25-metre sports pool and an outdoor pool featuring the very latest in massage jets, massage benches, massage tables and bubbles. A newly built children's/family area featuring a children's pool with water feature figures, a wide slide, a timed 100m tube slide and a 38m turbo slide with light-up effects.

Ice skating

Ice skating is an enjoyable pastime for the whole family and offers a relaxing alternative to fun on the slopes in St. Johann in Tirol. The ideal place to pursue this wonderful activity is at the artificial ice rink at the Panorama Badewelt. St. Johann's 1800 m² artificial rink is the perfect space for you to discover or hone your skating skills. All the equipment you need can be hired on site. Skate the ice of the Kitzbühel Alps!

SkiStar Dumpling Slalom

Ski and have a feast from 25th to 29th of January 2021. If you buy a 1-day SkiPass during this period SkiStar and cooperating restaurants will offer you a tasting of 2 dumplings. Depending on the huts there are different dumplings available.
