Competition rules and information

Taking part in Uppåt Väggen can be dangerous and you therefore enter the competition at your own risk. You know and accept that, by participating in Uppåt Väggen, you can risk your life and health, and that anyone within the training/competition area is at risk of hazards. You are aware that certain movements and actions cannot always be predicted or controlled and therefore cannot be avoided or prevented by safety measures.

It is your personal responsibility to determine if the competition is too difficult for you. You commit to inspecting the competition course/arena yourself. By taking part in the competition, you accept the suitability and condition of the course/arena.

You are aware that you may be personally liable to a third party for any damage to persons or property caused by you as a result of your participation in the competition. You agree that it is not the organiser's responsibility to inspect or monitor your equipment. It is your responsibility to have appropriate insurance cover and that you have read the competition rules.

Competition rules for Uppåt Väggen and Uppåt Väggen youth

  • To take part, you must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of your guardian.
  • All participants will be provided with a chip that must be collected within the designated timeframe for each class.
  • Participants who have not collected their chip or have had their equipment checked only 15 minutes before the competition are not allowed to start.
  • The equipment must be well attached during skiing.
  • Participants have a maximum of 60 minutes to complete the competition.
  • Contestants must be on the left side of the net on the way up (seen from the bottom).
  • At the summit of the slope (middle for the youth class) the pointed marker is rounded.
  • Descent must be done through two/four mandatory gates that are to the right of the net (seen from the bottom). Two mandatory gates for the youth class and four mandatory gates for the adult class.
  • You must arrive at the finish line with all your equipment. PLEASE NOTE! This also includes straps, gloves etc.
  • Skis/snowboards must be at least 1 metre long, straps must be used on equipment that normally requires them, and an alpine skiing helmet is mandatory.
  • The organiser SkiStar AB and its partners accept no responsibility for any damage to equipment and participants during the competition.
  • SkiStar AB reserves the right to document the competition with photos and film. The material may be used for marketing purposes by SkiStar AB.
  • Unapproved equipment means that you are not allowed to start.
  • All competitions are at your own risk!
  • Anyone who does not follow the above rules will be automatically disqualified.
