Icebreaker is a brand from New Zealand that produces base layers and clothing in the finest merino wool. In 1994, Jeremy Moon tried out a prototype of a sweater made of 100% merino wool and was captivated. It was so utterly different from the woollen clothing he had grown up with. The sweater was soft, shiny and could also be machine washed. He developed a plan to use merino wool in base layers, a segment that was dominated by synthetic garments, and soon people’s eyes were opened to Icebreaker’s products. Today, their garments are available in several different sizes and varieties in order to suit all types of activities. They are soft, 100% natural and transport moisture in a unique way.
