When you take the train, your holiday begins the moment you step on board.
Instead of clinging to the steering wheel you can enjoy spending time with your family, playing games, drinking in the picturesque landscape or dreaming about your forthcoming turns on the slopes of Åre.

If you are staying in Duved or Tegefjäll, stay on the train until Duved. There are direct night trains from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, all of which are easy to reach by day trains.

The night train from Malmö via Stockholm is designed to fit in with changeover days (Thursdays and Sundays) and will run from Christmas until Easter in 2016/2017.The train departs from Malmö via Stockholm on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and you arrive in Åre at 8 the next morning. After breakfast on board, you're ready for a full day on the slopes, with so much to look forward to. The return trip leaves Åre after 4 pm on Thursdays and Sundays - perfect timing after a day on the slopes.

Railway operator SJ is to amend its timetable and extend the capacity of night trains to Åre for the coming winter season. Night trains will arrive in Gothenburg at 07.25 in the morning. (In recent seasons they have arrived at 11.30)

* Winter holiday *
