SILVA was founded in 1933 when the brothers Björn, Alvar and Arvid Kjellström invented the first liquid-filled compass. A few years later, in 1935, another invention was launched: the first headlamp - The Zeiler. Today, more than eight decades later, compasses, headlamps and functional outdoor products are still the focus of product development and innovation.
