In Sälen there are masses of varied cross-country tracks and trip routes threading through a stunning natural environment. Bare mountain summits, forest terrain, illuminated tracks, groomed trails for skaters, demanding trails for elite skiers or easy tracks for excursions. All of them on the doorstep.

Tracks linked to our resorts
Information on open tracks that we maintain can be found under the heading “Lift, piste and snow information”.
The tracks are groomed as required depending on the weather and wind.
Lindvallen
2, 3.1, 5.3 km – starting out from the grazing ground that lies on the opposite side of the road from the ICA store by Snötorget. The track leads into forest terrain and is rather hilly. The 2 and 3.1 km trails are illuminated.
Högfjället
3, 5, 8, 10 km
Tandådalen
2.7 km – easy to ski trail with lighting.
3 km – easy to ski. Pulsenslingan/Tandådalen East.
10.2 km – Kalven (The Calf) – circular, flat and easy to ski.
Hundfjället
2.5 km and 5 km. The 2.5 km track has lighting.
Other tracks in the area close to the resorts
The tracks are groomed as required, depending on weather and wind.
Rörbäcksnäs
5, 7, 12 and 22 km. The 5 km track is illuminated.
Gubbmyren
2, 5, 7, 10 km. The 2 km track is illuminated.
There are connecting tracks to Sälfjällstorget but they are not groomed.
Hemfjällstangen
2.5 km, 5 and 10 km. The track goes into varied terrain.
Tjärnhedsspåret
Tjärnheden – Sälen village there and back. 15 km illuminated track in hilly terrain.
Excursion tracks on the mountain
The Sälenringen track is maintained at least once a week or after every heavy snowfall.
Yellow routes that are maintained (compacted)
The number of km indicates the length of the route there and back. Compacting = the snow is packed using a roller. This gives a good subsurface for cross-country skiing.
Högfjällshotel - Kvillkojan - Lindalen (compacted) approx. 10 km.
Högfjällshotel – Tandådalen East (maintained using a piste machine) approx. 8 km.
Gruven - Östfjällsstugan (compacted) approx. 6 km.
Gusjösätern - Östfjällstugan (compacted) approx. 7 km.
Lördagsgraven - Syndalen (connection to Sälenringen - compacted) approx. 8 km.
Högfjällshotel - Storfjällsgraven (compacted) approx. 14 km.
Storfjällsgraven - Mellanfjällsstugan (compacted) approx. 7 km.
Gammelgården - Hemfjällsstugan (track machine) approx. 10 km.
Gammelgården - Storfjällsgraven (track machine) approx. 10 km.
