Björnrike

We are now taking the mountains' best family skiing to new heights.

This winter's news from Björnrike: Grizzly Express, the longest and highest 6-seater chairlift in Sweden and the fastest in Scandinavia. Two new descents. New button lift. New, super-efficient snowmaking system. This winter, the turns in Björnrike's corduroy snow will be more enjoyable than ever.

Grizzly Express is 2,043 m long with a vertical height of 470 m, and the journey to the top takes less than six minutes. And as you know, shorter lift times mean more skiing time – and that is never wrong. Directly adjacent to Grizzly we have built two new descents. Both are red, both more than 2 km in length and both have vertical drops of 470 m. We have also built connections to both Långsvängen and Nedre Störtloppet. This means that those who prefer skiing on green/blue runs can also use the new lift. Otherwise, things are always like this here in Björnrike: from each lift there is always a harder and an easier piste.

Grizzly Express and the new descents are located on Blästerfjället, one of Björnrike's three ski mountains. This is also home to Björnvallen, our much-loved children's area. We have installed a new button lift to here that goes straight from the parking area by the new 6-seater chairlift. Families with children should always be comfortable with us, which is why with have opened a mini-format sports shop at Björnvallen. Here you will find hats, gloves, goggles and anything else you might have lost or left behind.

Of course, Björnvallen also has a heated shelter with all the essentials and a cosy café serving lunch. The whole of Björnrike is the finest suntrap in the mountains, with long, well-prepared carving dreams on three south-facing mountains.

This season we are more confident of having snow than ever before. A completely new and extremely powerful snow system means that we can lay half a metre over the whole of Björnrike within five days. This is particularly appreciated by Sweden's alpine clubs, who will start their season earlier than ever before by holding a training camp with us. Störtloppet (downhill, vertical drop 440 m) and Storslalombacken (giant slalom slope) on Blästerfjälle are considered by more and more people to be some of the best training pistes in the Swedish mountains.
