Use a map
The best starting point for cross-country trips to Trysilfjellet are Skihytta and Fageråsen. A good advice is to use a map when you go cross country skiing in Trysil. Here you will find all neccessary information about the trails, distances, recommended starting points and when the trails are being prepped.
SkiTrac Live
Do you want to know when the trails are being prepped? Thanks to a GPS transmitter in the trail machine, you can see when the slopes are being prepped. The service is delivered by TracTrac.
Take a look at the trail preperations (only in norwegian)
Skihytta
Trail 3 to Grønskaret, then on to trail 9 and 6 around Skurufjellet, trail 8 to Trysil Høyfjellssenter, trails 4 and 3 back to Skihytta. Combination of forest and mountain landscapes. Slightly uphill some stretches, but in general an easy and enjoyable trip. Parking at Skihytta.
Fageråsen
Start at Fjellstua kafé. Take trail 8 to the Skurufjell-round, trail 6 around Skurufjellet, trail 9 to Grønskaret, then on trail 1. You can choose either trail 2 to Skihytta (uphill 1.4km) and then back to Fageråsen, or continue on Trail 1 to Turistsenteret. Ski bus to Fageråsen from Trysil Turistsenter.
Trysil Turistsenter
Ole G road by Trysil Turistsenter, the road that passes through the golf course, connects up with the cross-country tracks south of the cabin communities. This trail makes it easy for people living at Trysil Turistsenter to get up to the best cross-country areas. Visitors can choose from several round-trip trails that take them back to Trysil Turistsenter, with distances ranging from 12 to 33 kilometres.
Some wish to start their ski trip from Turistsenteret, and the cross-country trails start right at the ticket office and the six-seat Fjellekspressen ski lift. The trail passes through the cabin area, then on to Håvi, Grønskaret and the trails to Fageråsen. Follow the X's marked in red along the trail. A quick and comfortable way to get up into the mountains is to take either the Fjellekspressen or the Liekspressen lifts. The trail to the left after disembarking takes you to Skihytta
Right next to Trysil Turistsenter (the Tourist Centre) there is a three-kilometre-long lighted track for those who would like to go skiing after dark.
You will receive a cross country map in ouor receptions or at the Information Office at Trysil Turistsenter.
