Rules and safety

It is a wonderful feeling when you tear down to Sälen Bike Park in the summer heat with a helmet and arm and leg protection fastened tightly. For it to be as much fun and as awesome as possible, there are a few rules that need to be followed.

1. All cycling is carried out at your own risk

Select cycle trails based on your own skill level. Assist others who have had an accident.

2. Show respect to other trail users

Slow down when encountering or overtaking hikers and other cyclists. Make them aware that you wish to pass. Anyone coming from above/behind must always give way. Pay particular attention where trails merge or intersect.

3. Adjust your speed

Ensure that you are able to stop in the event of unexpected obstacles. Remember that the surface properties change depending on the weather conditions.

4. Do not stop unnecessarily where the view is limited

It is particularly inappropriate to stop behind ridges, bends and steeper slopes.

5. Respect nature

Do not disturb animals, do not litter. The mountain terrain is sensitive therefore you are only permitted to cycle on approved cycle trails.

6. It is your responsibility as a cyclist to know the rules

Obey signs and instructions for riding lifts and cycling. Breaking the rules will result in prosecution. If you cycle outside the approved cycle trails, SkiStar Sälen reserves the right to cancel your lift card.

7. Helmets are mandatory when cycling

In addition to helmets, the recommended protective equipment are back plates, knee pads and elbow pads.

8. Drunk or intoxicated people will be turned away

Alcohol and drugs impair judgement and performance which increases the risk for everyone present on the mountain.

9. LiftPasses are individual

Any person attempting to ride a lift without an individual or valid LiftPass may incur a penalty charge of SEK 1,500.

10. Cyclists are responsible for their own bike

It is the cyclist's responsibility to ensure that their bike does not foul or injure other people, lifts of other facilities.

Anyone breaking these rules can be held responsible for their actions.
