How it works
Many of our accommodations are already possible to book here at skistar.com. Throughout the winter season we are continuously releasing accommodation which may mean that the options you are looking for are not available at the time of your search. If you cannot find the accommodation you are primarily looking for, you can try again at a later point or why not try some other accommodation? You always have the option to change accommodation up to 30 days prior to arrival, when you have complemented your booking with our cancellation/re-booking insurance.
Exchange days during Christmas and New Year 2012/13
Christmas week falls in week 52, and you can book Sunday to Sunday. Your arrival date will be Sunday 23 December and the departure on Sunday 30 December. If you prefer to celebrate New Year in Sälen you should book week 1, Sunday - Sunday. You would then arrive on Sunday 30 December and depart on Sunday 6 January 2013.
The exchange days above apply to most of our accommodations but there are exceptions. It is thus imperative that you carefully check the arrival and departure dates and days before finishing your booking.
Week 9
Guest surveys show that our guests who like to downhill ski want to stay near the lifts and slopes. As a consequence, we have increased the availability for them during week 9 by reserving selected lodging in Sälen for people who book ski passes. If you would like to stay close to the ski area, you can easily book lodging and a SkiPass* at the same time here at skistar.com.
When booking well in advance you will also purchase your SkiPass at this season’s (11/12) prices. Lodging which is covered is:
- Lindvallen: Gula byn, Bruna byn, Dalbyn, Gröna byn, Fjällhem, Ski Lodge village, Ski Lodge, Röda byn, Blå byn, Fjällbyn, Kopparbyn, Vasabyn, Vintergatan, Timmerbyn, Timmerbyn Top och Söderåsen.
- Tandådalen: Fjällvillor, Grå Byn, Tandådalens Fjällhotell lgh, Panorama, Röda Byn, Stugbyn TD, Snöloftet, Solbacken och Sportvåning.
- Hundfjället: Annexrum, Blå Husen, Fjällgläntan, Hundfjällscenter, Hundfjällets stugby, Joängets Fjällby, Nova, Trollbäcken, Trolldalen

Minimum number of days on the ski pass for week 9
Full week (e.g. Sat-Sat or Sun-Sun) = 6-8 day ski pass
Short week (Sun-Thurs) = 4-day ski pass or longer
Weekend (Thurs-Sun) = 3-day ski pass or longer
Only full weeks certain week numbers
During certain weeks of the winter season we only accept bookings of full weeks in most of our accommodations. The season 2012/13 this applies to the following weeks: numbers 52, 1, 7, 8, 9 and 13.
Ski Lodge – winter season 2012/13
Guests staying in apartments at Ski Lodge this season (11/12) have priority to book the apartment the same week next season (12/13). These guests are given the opportunity during their stay or within a period of one week after their departure, to book the same apartment and week the following season. Failing this, the apartment may become available for booking for everyone here at the web or via telephone.
