About MySkiStar

  • What's MySkiStar and how does it work?
    MySkiStar is a free service giving you access to your skiing statistics, competitions and challenges out on the slopes or on the web – all you need is your SkiPass!
  • What SkiPasses offers MySkiStar?
    All of our SkiPass offers MySkiStar. To be able to see all the features MySkiStar has to offer, you need to register a MySkiStar account and activate your SkiPass number in your MySkiStar account.
  • Is MySkiStar free?
    Yes. MySkiStar is a service that comes with your SkiPass. No extra charge or storage fees. All you do is register and your SkiPass in MySkiStar.
  • Which destinations offer MySkiStar?
    MySkiStar is available at the following destinations: Sälen, Åre, Vemdalen, Hemsedal and Trysil. Hammarbybacken do not yet support MySkiStar.
  • Can international visitors use MySkiStar?
    Yes. MySkiStar is open to everyone, and the site is published in English, Swedish and Norwegian. To change language, click the language flags at the top of the page.
  • How can I register for MySkiStar?
    If you have previously booked or purchased something on the SkiStar site, you can simply log in with your usual user information. Click here to log in. If you are a guest on the site – i.e. if you have not booked or purchased anything previously – you can register on MySkiStar and then link your SkiPass. Click here to register
  • Can I connect MySkiStar to social media?
    Yes. To connect your MySkiStar account with Facebook and/or Twitter, go to “Settings” under “My Skiing” once you have logged in. Then select the “Social” option. Scroll down the page to find the option to connect your account to Facebook and/or Twitter.
  • How can I see my skiing run statistics in MySkiStar?
    As soon as you have set up your account and linked your SkiPass to MySkiStar, MySkiStar will automatically start to record your vertical drop distances and check-ins. Log into your account and click “My skiing”, where you can see your skiing run statistics. You can also choose to view detailed statistics.
  • How does MySkiStar calculate my vertical meters?
    MySkiStar calculates your vertical meters by parameters between the lift top and your check-in at the next lift. If you choose to go further up the slopes or off-piste MySkiStar won’t calculate your vertical meters.
  • How can I link up with my friends and family?
    Once you have logged in, you can access the “Friends” page under “My skiing”. On this page you can search for people to add as friends. Simply send them an invitation to join you and wait for an answer.
  • How can I adjust my vertical meters if there is something wrong?
    Please contact us at: myskistar@skistar.com and describe your problem.
  • I wish no longer participate at MySkiStar
    MySkiStar is an optional and free service from SkiStar. To be included in MySkiStar requires that you register your SkiPass at your MySkiStar account. There is no automatic registration at MySkiStar when you buy a SkiPass.
  • What information is gathered in my SkiPass?
    No information about you is gathered in your SkiPass. Only a data sting is gathered in your SkiPass from our readers in the slopes, that only shows us where you have been skiing.
  • Can I use MySkiStar in my mobile?
    Yes. With our SkiStar app for iPhone and Android, you can easily log on and see your MySkiStar- account. Don’t forget to register your SkiPass at your account. Register your SkiPass here.
  • Will MySkiStar data be sold to advertisers or third parties?
    No. SkiStar do not sell any information about their guests or MySkiStar users.
  • How do the challenges work?
    Once you have added one or more friends to your MySkiStar account, you can start to challenge your friends in the following categories:

    • Ski the most vertical drop metres
    • First to a set number of vertical drop meters
    • Ski the most runs
    • First to a set number of runs

    You can also select the destination that the challenge applies to. You can choose between our destinations or select the “apply to all” option. After you have done that, enter start and end dates for the challenge and select the friends you wish to challenge. Once your friends have accepted the challenge on their profile pages, the challenge will start from the date you chose. You can keep track of how a challenge is developing by clicking the challenge in question.
    • I forgot my password. Where can I get a new one?
      To reset your password visit the Registration page and the "Forgot Password-button". Enter your email address and a new password will be sent to you
    • What age limit has MySkiStar?
      MySkiStar have an age limit of 7 years old. This means that people under 7 can’t register an own account.
    • How can I see where my friends are on the slopes?
      Once you have logged into MySkiStar, you can see which lift your friends checked into most recently. Go to “My skiing” and “My Friends’ Position” to see a detailed list.
    • What do I do if I lose my SkiPass?
      If you have lost or otherwise misplaced your SkiPass, you can add a new SkiPass under “Settings”.
    • How can I change my password?
      If you wish to change your password for MySkiStar, log into “My page” on skistar.com. You can then edit your password and your other details.
    • I want access to my skiing statistics – but I do not want to share anything else.
      Under “Settings”, set your account to “Private”.
    • I have added several SkiPasses, and now I want to remove one or more of them.
      We are working to develop a function for this, but at the moment we have to do it by e-mail. Send us an e-mail with the SkiPass number(s) in question and we will help you out.
    • I am having problems linking my SkiPass to MySkiStar.
      If you have previously booked or bought something at skistar.com, enter the same user information for MySkiStar. If you have registered a new MySkiStar account, there may be problems with your SkiPass if it is linked to your booking account. Contact us at myskistar@skistar.com and we will check your accounts.
    • What do I do if I want to change my e-mail address?
      If you wish to change your e-mail address, log into “My page” on skistar.com. You can then change your e-mail address under “Settings”. If you change your e-mail address on “My page”, you will also change your e-mail address/login for MySkiStar.
    • How can I cancel my registration?
      Send an e-mail with your cancellation request to myskistar@skistar.com; make sure to state the e-mail address you use to log into your account.

    • What kinds of leaderboards are there?
      At the moment, there are leaderboards for vertical drop, number of skiing runs and total number of pins for SkiStar as a whole and per destination. All leaderboards can be displayed per day, week and season.
    • How do the leaderboards work?
      MySkiStar collects all data for the leaderboards via its users. These data are compiled and then published on the leaderboards. The leaderboards for each day are closed at midnight.

    • Is there a complete list of all pins?
      No. MySkiStar don’t offer a list of all pins right now.
    • How do I get a pin?
      Pins are received through your activity in our slopes and lifts. The pins determines by where, when and how often you have visited a certain lift, gone a certain pattern or visited any of our destinations.

    • Who can see my kcal?
      You can see your total kcal consumption on your profile page. To view your kcal consumption per day, click “show detailed statistics” in your profile. This is also visible to your friends.
    • How do you calculate kcal?
      We perform a calculation using what is known as the MET value, vertical drop, skiing level and weight. The MET (Metabolic Energy Turnover) value is an expression of how much energy your body uses during a specific activity. (For skiing, novice MET = 5, intermediate MET = 6 and advanced MET = 7). You can enter your skiing level and weight on the settings page. If you do not want to have your kcal calculated, leave the fields blank.
