The start of winter
We are longing for snow and when it finally does arrive it will go quickly. All our resorts have a good snow cannon system in place to lay a really good layer of snow for the first skiing of the season.
The snow cannons are soon put into action at the start of the winter, depending on air humidity and temperature. Snow from the cannons consists of denser, rounder and more compact granules which provide a good base on the slopes. Snow from the cannons also withstands wear and heat better, which makes it ideal for the start of the season.
The ski testing weekends provide the usual start to our season. All the major ski, boot and snowboard suppliers will be at our ski testing weekends. Take the opportunity to learn more about the different models and techniques to find the right skis for you. At the beginning of the season, we fill our calendar with a variety of events to suit most tastes.
Valletorget will be opened in Lindvallen, you can watch great jumps in Hemsedal where juniors will be competing in the Junior Park Attack and the Europa Cup in Slalom is being held in Trysil. Naturally, we have a tradition of celebrating Christmas and New Year in all our ski resorts. Welcome to a brand new and fantastic season 2011/2012!
